Hakkımızda

1964 yılında Gaziantep’te şair bir baba ile öğretmen bir annenin çocuğu olarak dünyaya geldim. İlköğretimimi Gaziantep ve Mersin’de, Liseyi Adana’da tamamladım Çukurova Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’nden 1988 yılında tıp doktoru olarak mezun oldum. 1994 yılında psikiyatri uzmanı, 2000 yılında doçent, 2007 yılında profesör unvanı aldım.

Psikiyatrinin hemen tüm konularıyla ilgiliyim ancak, Bilişsel Davranışçı Terapiler ve Eş terapileri ile daha yoğun olarak ilgileniyorum. Bu konuda BECK Enstitüsünde Bilişsel Davranışçı Terapiler Eğitimi aldım. Ayrıca Türkiye’de iki yıl devam eden eğitici eğitimi kurslarını tamamladım. Halen Türkiye Psikiyatri Derneği çatısı altında eğitim veriyorum. Aile ve Çift Terapileri eğitimimi A.Ü Tıp Fakültesi bünyesinde kurslara katılarak başladım.. 1995 yılı içerisinde 4.5 aylık bir süreyi University of Illinois, Chicago bünyesindeki Nöropsikiyatri Enstitüsünde çalışarak geçirdim. Bu süre içerisinde “Çocukluk Çağında Cinsel Kötü Kullanım ve Nöropsikiyatrik Bulgular” başlıklı bir araştırma projesi hazırladım. Bu projeyi travma konusunda uzman Prof. Dr. Thomas Jobe, Prof. Dr. Moises Gaviria ve aile terapileri konusunda uzman Prof. Dr. Richard Schwartz’la birlikte yürüttüm. Kaldığım süre içinde ensitü bünyesinde Juvenil Research Center’deki Aile Terapisi kurslarına katıldım, ayrıca haftada iki gece yine aynı enstitü içerisindeki alkol ve madde bağımlılığı bölümünün yürütmüş olduğu grup ve aile tedavilerine de katıldım.
